Animated Washing Machine Appliance Tips
The Tips Are Catagorize By Appliance.

Refrigerator

  • If you have a refrigerator that has an odor to it, place non-lighter-fluid charcoal in a bowl, then put in the refrigerator. Change out the charcoal until odor is gone.

Keeping Your Refrigerator or Freezer Running Cool

  • The coils that are on your refrigerator or freezer need to be cleaned at least Twice a Year. They can be found under the or on the back the appliance. Once you have located the coils, you would need your vacuum cleaner with a hose extension or a long handle brush to clean the coils. It is also very handy to clean around you appliance because you appliance has to have the air circulation.

If you would like to purchase a long handle brush or if you have any questions, fill free to give us a call (910) 281-3768 or email us @ johnsappliance@pinehurst.net.

Disposal

How to clean your In-Sink-Erator disposal.

  • First, you would need two cups of ice, place the ice down your disposal and turn it on with the water running. This process will clean any food left behind in the disposal or pipes.

  • Second, you need to purchase a lemon or lime from the local grocery. Cut the fruit into quarters, and place one quarter at a time down the disposal while the disposal is on and with the water running. This process will give the disposal a fresh lemon or lime smell.

Dishwasher

  • Problems occur frequently when you use too much detergent or improper loading of the dishwasher (always refer to your owners manual for proper loading procedures). If you do over suds, it may cause the dishwasher to leak, leave white residue on the dishes, or not completely pump out all the water. To prevent this from occurring only use the main wash cup and leave the rest empty. If you use a gel type of soap, only use a teaspoon to a tablespoon depending on the water hardness and soil on the dishes. If you are using a powder, only fill up the cup half way and again water hardness and soil play a part. I suggest using Electrasol Tabs it has worked great for me. If you do use too much soap, call our office and we will try to help you with out costing you a service call.

Microwave

  • It is very important to keep grease and splattered food bits cleaned out of your microwave and turntable. A fire can occur in microwave that is left unclean. Grease will cause the self-supports and mechanism under the turntable to short out and could cause a fire. Just wipe your microwave down with soap and water.

  • Using a lemon can usually eliminate order in your microwave (slice the lemon in halves and squeeze all the juice out). Put the juice in a microwave save container (approximately 4-cup container) with the juice place 2 to 3 cups of water. Place the container inside you microwave and cook for about 2 minutes.

  • Never use any gold or silver trimmed cups or plates in the microwave. These dishes contain metal and you can harm the microwave with just a small amount of metal when you are cooking. So, please keep this in mind when you go and heat a cup of tea.

  • Never clean the electronic control panel with any cleaning solution. It could possibly short the panel causing major repair cost. Mild soap and water should be used.
